TIME FOR CHANGE

What Vaughan Residents Are Saying

The Issues That Matter Most

Based on real data from Vaughan and York Region residents. These are the challenges Alex is running to solve.

27%

of Vaughan residents rank this #1

Affordable Housing

Families who grew up in Vaughan deserve to be able to stay here.

Commitments:

  • I'll advocate at York Region for attainable housing targets tied to actual local income data

  • I'll push for secondary suite policy expansion to be reviewed and updated within the first year

  • I'll request a review of development charges to ensure costs aren't simply passed on to existing residents

  • I'll require community consultation before any major development approval, not after

21%

of Vaughan residents rank this #1

Community Safety

Every resident deserves to feel safe in their home, their neighbourhood, and on Vaughan's streets.

Commitments:

  • I'll push for increased York Regional Police presence in high-need neighbourhoods within the first year

  • I'll advocate for better street lighting and safety infrastructure at the locations residents flag most often

  • I'll support funding for youth programming that gives kids a positive alternative and helps prevent crime before it starts

  • I'll work with social services to address the root causes of crime, including mental health and addiction supports

  • I'll request a public, annual report on community safety initiatives and their results

of Vaughan residents rank this #1

Transit and Traffic

Vaughan's roads haven't kept pace with its growth, and residents are losing hours of their week to it.

Commitments:

  • I'll press York Region within the first year for a firm timeline on VIVA and GO expansion into underserved Vaughan neighbourhoods

  • I'll identify the top 5 worst intersections for congestion and push for smart signal upgrades at each

  • I'll advocate for road widening on Major Mackenzie and Rutherford to be prioritized in the next capital budget

  • I'll require new developments to include safe cycling and pedestrian connections as a condition of approval

York Region Priority

Infrastructure That Works

I understand what it takes to build systems that serve everyone, because I've spent my career doing it.

Commitments:

  • Within the first 100 days, I'll request a full audit of Vaughan's aging water, sewer, and electrical infrastructure backlog

  • I'll push for a public, multi-year capital works schedule so residents know what's being fixed and when

  • I'll advocate for a skilled trades requirement on all municipal contracts over $500,000

  • I'll champion a green energy retrofit plan for municipal buildings, starting with the highest energy users

Resident Priority

Tax Accountability

Every dollar collected from Vaughan taxpayers must show up as real value, not disappear into overhead.

Commitments:

  • I'll vote against any tax increase above the rate of inflation unless tied to a specific, published project list

  • I'll request a public, line item breakdown of council spending published annually

  • I'll call for third party audits of the three largest municipal contracts each term

  • I'll report back to residents every year with a plain language summary of where your tax dollars went

Community Priority

Community and Seniors

Vaughan's strength is its people, across every generation.

Commitments:

  • I'll work with local organizations to expand senior accessibility services, starting with transit and recreation access

  • I'll advocate for increased youth recreation and summer employment funding in the next budget cycle

  • I'll support multicultural community programming with dedicated, protected funding

  • I'll partner with food banks and mental health services to identify and close local gaps within the first year

For more than 20 years, Alex has dedicated his time to serving others through volunteer work, community initiatives, charitable organizations, cultural events, and public service projects throughout Vaughan and beyond.

He believes that strong communities are built by people who show up, lend a hand, and work together to solve problems. This commitment to service has included:

Throughout his life, Alex has worked alongside residents, community leaders, businesses, and representatives at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels.

He understands that real progress comes from listening, collaboration, and putting people ahead of politics.

Alex is not running because he wants a political career. He is running because he cares deeply about Vaughan and believes residents deserve practical, accountable leadership from someone who understands the challenges facing families, seniors, workers, and local businesses.

For decades, Alex has quietly served his community without seeking recognition. Now, he is stepping forward to bring that same commitment, experience, and dedication to public service as Vaughan's next Regional Councillor.
